Meet Your Instructor: Amanda Garrison

Hi, I'm Amanda, an experienced Birth Doula of over 20 years, certified with ICEA.  I am dedicated to empowering women through pregnancy and birth  and teaching partners my Doula tips and tricks! It is a strong calling on my life (soul work) as well as a passion. It started with my own unmedicated, long, complicated, traumatic hospital birth of my one and only son. I hired a doula and am grateful for her, still to this day! I am from Cookeville, TN. When I started taking birth clients on, they all delivered at the hospital. Later, a birthing center opened where I taught all of the  birth classes and worked there in office part time for 9 years. At that time, I  helped clients deliver there, the hospital and attended home births. Over the years, I have taken several Spinning Babies workshops, Birth Ball certifications, massage classes, herbal and essential oil workshops,  breathing courses, and most recently, a Body Ready Method class.  I believe in a woman’s body and ability to give birth. I know for certain when proactive pregnancy preparation is done to the fullest, the births are easier and shorter overall.  You CAN do this! With years of practice and a passion for birth,  I am excited to share this fun, upbeat class with you!
